Buildings in Progress
Bainbridge Manor - Brooklyn
New Destiny began construction in August 2012 on a 23-unit affordable rental building close to three other buildings it owns in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn.
The new Bainbridge building will be affordable to low-income households, with half of the units reserved for homeless families coming directly from the domestic violence shelter system.
The building will feature studio and 2-bedroom units, a secure backyard, laundry room, common room, children’s indoor playroom, and program staff offices. On-site services tailored to the needs of families with recent histories of domestic abuse will include counseling, job readiness assistance, financial planning, children and family programming to help families rebuild their lives and become self-sufficient.
