HOUSINGLINK is New Destiny’s main program for providing information on permanent housing resources available to domestic violence survivors in New York City. HousingLink operates a Housing HelpLine; provides training workshops; and administers an on-line resource center called HousingLink Online.
Housing HelpLine
The Housing HelpLine is open Monday through Friday from 9:30am - 5:30pm. Our staff offers comprehensive housing information and case consultations for domestic violence survivors and their advocates. We answer questions regarding eligibility for various housing subsidies such as NYCHA Public Housing and Advantage NY and can provide technical assistance to callers who need assistance in making a plan to find safe, permanent housing. To reach the HelpLine call 646-472-0262 ext. 15.
HousingLink Training
HousingLink sponsors training workshops for residential and non-residential service providers. Workshops have covered topics such as the NYCHA Domestic Violence Priority, Section 8, finding and keeping permanent housing, and housing for disabled domestic violence survivors. HousingLink will also—on a limited basis—provide training for domestic violence shelter residents and respond to requests for specialized training. To request a workshop, contact Catherine Trapani.
