If you are a victim of domestic
violence and still living where your abuse occurred
or the batterer can find you, you should consider your
current safety. You have three primary options:
- Go to PATH, the General Homeless Shelter intake
center, and ask to be referred to the NOVA (No Violence
Again) unit for placement in a Domestic Violence
Shelter.
- Move in with Friends or Family living in a safe
location where your batterer will not find you.
If you do not move into a domestic violence emergency
shelter, you should contact a non-residential
domestic violence provider and HousingLink HelpLine at 646-472-0262 for assistance:
- Linking to domestic violence services
- Maintaining your current housing
- Finding new, safe permanent housing
